Physician-Assisted Dying: The Regulatory Challenges by Omar Ha-Redeye :: SSRN

Following the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision in Carter, the Federal government passed Bill C-14 on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), receiving royal assent on June 17, 2016. This summary paper provides a quick overview of some of the contemporary issues in this area, from minors to psychiatric illnesses, but also advance directions, the need for reasonably foreseeable death, and some of the other issues to regulation.
